How I love the game and everything about it.
The mental preperations on a pre-game basis. The butterflies you feel as game day gets closer and closer. One nights' sleep till game day, you worry about the amount of sleep you get, as if it's gonna be the game of your life. You start to think of what could go wrong, you then begin to think of your shining moments in the game.. How the crowd would get out of their seats and yell to the top of their lungs. Assuring that aggressive attitude you worked to get that point, and how that same feelings transfers to the supporting crowd. The nervousness grows heavier as you draw closer the courts. Mental preparation, trying to hype yourself up, making yourself feel more aggressive. The music on blast, loud, angry, and vulgar. Now you're getting mad! Building hatred against the other team, wanting to talk shit and put hands for no reason, and plus you don't even know them. But it's not personal hatred... Sportsmanship type hatred. Take it out on the court.. as soon as tip-off happens you let it ALL out! It's your chance to shine. The diffeerent look on everybody's faces. Mostly angry, anxious, and hungry for the rock, but some wearing a look like "Omg, coach, take me out already". The two different colors going at it, height differentiates the different positions each player would play and that's to your advantage to take. The sweat of your palms intensify as the referee approaches center court with the ball for the tip-off. Lookin' around, making sure you know where all your players are, and where the other teams' players are. The ref holds the ball out, chirps the whistle once. You squat down, feel your man knowing they're still next to you, makin' sure they go no where 'till the ball has been secured. The squeaks of basketball shoes rubbing against the floor, the yelling, the calling outs of different plays. "I'm open", "watch it behind you!", "Take the shot!", "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!", "Grab that rebound!"... "Good shit boy". It's a battle field... Except, theirs nothing to be lost. You mess up? Get back out there, shake it off, keep your head high, and hustle back. .
haha, dang.
To be continued.
